The Central Board of Secondary Education that administers the National Eligibility and Entrance Test(NEET) for medical and dental courses had laid down a weird set of rules for students who appear for the exam. They banned everything from dark-coloured trousers to high heeled shoes to metal earrings and inner-wear like bras with hooks.

So, maybe they should have expected that someone would make a laugh-out-loud, no-holds-barred spoof video like this one.

As a consequence of the rules, four teachers were suspended since students alleged harassment. CBSE meanwhile, termed the incident a “consequence of overzealousness.”

The entrance test has been criticized also for the tricky syllabus and for papers in Bengali and Marathi turning out to be much tougher than the one in English.

The spoof video, called ‘I don’t NEET you’ is eight-minutes long and depicts events that take place in a NEET centre. Exaggerated though the depictions are, they don’t look all that different from real life. For instance, the students get asked to strip so that they could be frisked with metal detectors. As for women, they are told they don’t have a place inside because the Mnusmriti says so, of course.

Pop culture references like Babubahli 2 and allusion to hostility against Muslims are some of the tropes that the makers of the video have used to bring you this hilarious creation.

The video is right below. It’s in Tamil. For those who don’t know the language, subtitles are embedded. Enjoy!
