Eight doctors from the Narayana Hrudyalaya in Bangalore are on a mission-touring Madhya Pradesh to identify the children with need for urgent heart surgeries.

150 kids identified for open heart surgery

So far, the group has identified 150 children from Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sehore and Bhopal who require immediate open heart surgery. On Wednesday, the team of doctors visited the Hoshangabad district to spot other critical cases.

The surgeries are going to be performed free of cost.

This is made possible with the Mukhyamantri Bal Upchar Yojna under which a memorandum of understanding(MoU) has been signed by the Narayana Hrudayalaya and the Madhya Pradesh government.

Dr Veena Sinha, the Chief medical and health officer told Hindustan Times that of the 150 children 58 of whom are in extremely critical condition will be treated first.

The doctors, meanwhile will visit more districts to identify patients
